Absenteeism

If on the day, due to an unexpected emergency, you are unable to fulfil your volunteer duties please notify either Cathy France or Tracey Spokes.

Aprons


Expo Aprons are provided for volunteers on most stalls.  Please wear these whilst volunteering and then pass them on to the next person when you have completed your volunteering time.

First Aid

St John’s Ambulance will be in attendance all day to administer first aid if necessary.  If an accident occurs, an accident report form needs to be completed and the accident needs to be reported to the Expo Management team.

Food Handling

If you are preparing or handling food please read the Food Standards information carefully that is provided in the Volunteers Information pack and adhere to the recommended procedures.  Please sign the OHS&W form at the volunteers tent on entry to the Expo to confirm that you have read the required information.  Please ensure you wear provided disposable gloves.

Food & Drink

Food & drinks will be available to purchase throughout the day from various vendors.

Health & Safety

A safety officer will inspect the stalls area and Expo grounds prior to the event beginning.  Please report any unsafe conditions to the Site Manager, Bec Francis. (wearing orange safety vest)

Lost Children

Please take lost children to the stage area so an announcement can be made over the PA System.

Management

The Expo is being organised and managed by The Hills Montessori School.  Event managers; Cathy France & Tracey Spokes, Site Manager; Bec Francis and Expo Management officers; Alison Howard & Mellissa Bradley will be available throughout the day if needed.  They will be recognizable by the orange safety vests that they will be wearing.

Manual Handling

Please read the leaflet on the basics of good lifting and follow safe recommended practices to minimize the risk of manual handling injuries.  Please sign the OHS&W form at the volunteers tent on entry to the Expo to confirm that you have read the required information.

Opening Hours

The Expo opening hours are from 10am – 4pm on Sunday 14th November 2010.

Pack Up Time

If you are able to assist with packing up the event from 4 pm onwards your help would be greatly appreciated.

Security

The Police have been notified of the event & will attend the event.  Please notify Expo Management if the police are required at any time.

Set Up Time

Sites will be set up between 7.00 – 9.00 am on the day of the Expo.  If you are able to assist with setting up please let the Expo Management team know.  Much of the site will be set up on Saturday 13th November.  Please let the Expo Management team know if you are able to attend on this day to assist.

Sun Smart

If assisting on an outdoor stall, please ensure that you are sun smart and wear a hat and apply sunscreen.
Sunscreen is supplied in the Volunteers Tent.


Tickets

A Volunteers ticket will be included with the Volunteers Information pack.  Please show it at the gate on entry and hand it in at the Volunteers Tent and exchange it for a Volunteer’s badge.  The Volunteer ticket only admits one volunteer.  Additional tickets are $5.  Entry for children accompanied by an adult is free.

Toilets

Male & female toilets are available on site. 

Vehicles

Entrance to Volunteers car park is situated off Swamp Road (main entrance to show ground).  Please park vehicles in designated volunteer’s car parking area.  Car park attendants will be recognizable by their yellow safety vest.

Volunteer’s Badge

Volunteers will be provided with a volunteers badge when they hand in their volunteers ticket on entry to the grounds.  Please identify yourself as a volunteer at the gate.  We request that volunteers wear their badges for easy identification whilst volunteering on the day.  Handing your badge in at the end of the day to recycle would be appreciated.
